The MA Integrative Psychotherapy is a part-time, 2-year programme that is designed for experienced counsellors wishing to take the next step in their career and become a psychotherapist. The course is written with SCOPED Band C requirements in mind. Attendance is one evening a week, plus one weekend per term.
Assessment will include essays, reports, individual and group presentations, case studies, research reports and several work-based assignments. These strategies are designed to enable the development and application of key transferable skills in a practice-based, counselling setting. There are no examinations.
You can access funding for this course via Student Finance if you do not already hold a Masters level qualification. PGCE/Cert Ed qualifications do not count as Level 7 in respect to your ability to access funding. Please see the funding fact sheet for more information regarding student finance and payment options.

Research Methodology in Counselling (30 credits)
Enhancing and Embedding Practice (EEP) 45 credits. EEP 1: Working with Difference (gender, culture and sexuality), EEP2: Philosophical Interpersonal Theory, EEP3: Contemporary Holistic Approaches
Year 2 Modules
Personal and Professional Development (30 credits)
Research Dissertation (30 credits)
Designing and Developing Practice (DDP) 45 credits. DDP1: Working with Difference (neurodiversity), DDP2: Systemic Family Systems, DDP3: Transpersonal Approaches to Psychotherapy
Entry Requirements
Applicants should have a Counselling Degree (Level 6) qualification at 2:2 or above, have been a qualified counsellor for at least 3 years and be a current practicing counsellor with at least 450 hours of client work.
Progression
You could also progress onto a Doctoral programme upon completion of this course.
