Overview

This course is designed for those who have completed our beginners course or anyone with foundational jewellery-making experience who wants to refine their craft and tackle more ambitious projects. You'll master intermediate jewellery techniques as well as having opportunity to explore basic traditional silversmithing skills such as how to raise small bowls, jugs, and cutlery.

This course provides a supportive creative space where you'll have access to professional equipment, expert guidance, and a community of learners to help bring your designs to life.

Please note: Materials (silver sheet, findings, etc.) are not included in the course fee, as costs vary depending on individual projects. See below for more details.

What Will I Study?

Students will learn about and experiment with sheet metal and wire, using a variety of jewellery tools to make unique and personal pieces. Following discussion and guidance from the tutor, students will decide what they would like to make and will work on their own projects throughout the course.

You may cover:

  • Designing and cutting
  • Filing and drilling
  • Polishing, texturing and annealing
  • Soldering, cleaning and wirework.

Other techniques may be on offer if required, such as casting – please ask the tutor if this is of interest to you.
