This course is for adults who have completed A-level or degree-level French, or who have completed 5 or 6 years of personal study and are keen to read French literature extracts crossing several centuries.
Homework is given on a weekly basis, which will consist of some independent reading and answering reflective questions.
What Will I Study?
You will expand your knowledge of French authors and key literary extracts from the Renaissance to the present day.
We will cover a range of literary extracts, which will encompass:
Poetry
Plays and sketches
Short stories and novels
Philosophy and opinion pieces
Adult and children's comic books
Entry Requirements
To join at this level, you should be confident reading modern day French, such as newspaper and magazine articles. You should also be able to try to express your views in French and have 5 or 6 years of French study behind you.

Progression
After completing this course, you may progress to the next course Year 5, where you will further develop your knowledge in French Literature, subject to sufficient demand.
