This Vinyasa Yoga course is suitable for all learners (aged 19+), including beginners, improvers and those returning to yoga practice. Vinyasa is a dynamic and energising style of yoga that links movement with breath through flowing sequences of postures. Unlike Hatha Yoga, which is generally slower-paced with longer-held poses, Vinyasa focuses on continuous movement to develop strength, flexibility, balance and concentration.
The course is designed to support both physical and mental wellbeing through mindful movement, breath awareness and relaxation techniques. Modifications and alternative options will be provided to support different levels of experience and ability.
If you have any health concerns, please discuss them with your doctor prior to enrolling for an exercise class. You will also need to inform your tutor of any health conditions at the start of the course.
Regular practice can help improve flexibility, posture, coordination, muscular strength and overall fitness, while also reducing stress and promoting a greater sense of wellbeing. Practising between classes may help you progress more quickly, although there is no obligation to do so.
What Will I Study?
Participants will learn a range of flowing yoga sequences designed to improve mobility, strength, balance and body awareness.
You will explore how to move smoothly between postures using the breath as a guide, while developing confidence in a variety of yoga poses and modifications suited to different abilities.
Breathing exercises and relaxation techniques will also be included to help manage stress, improve focus and encourage mindfulness.
Entry Requirements
This is a mixed ability class, welcoming participants of all experience levels. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace and within their own physical limitations. If you are completely new to yoga, please inform your tutor at the start of the course so guidance can be adapted to suit the group.
