What will I study?

Students applying for an Access to HE Diploma in Allied Health Professionals can choose to study four subjects. You must study:

  • either Biology or Human Physiology
  • and Professional Healthcare practice
  • and Study Skills

You should also choose two of the following subjects:

  • Chemistry 
  • English Language at Level 3
  • Professional Healthcare Practice 
  • Psychology 
  • Maths at Level 3

Please note: almost every health professions degree will require you to have Maths and English GCSE.

WHY STUDY ACCESS TO HE AT AHED?

  1. In 2026 all students who completed an Access course satisfactorily were offered a place at University.
  2. Approximately 80% of students get an offer at their first choice University.
  3. We support all students with the application and interview process for University.
  4. We offer a diploma pathway to suit most progression routes.
  5. Small class sizes and dedicated tutor support helps us get to know you as an individual; we pride ourselves on counting in ones.
