Whether you're writing for stage, screen, or audio, this workshop will give you practical tools to bring your scripts to life and engage your audience more effectively.

What Will I Study?

During this workshop, you'll focus on three key elements of scriptwriting. Topics include creating believable characters with clear motivations, developing distinctive character voice through dialogue, using symbols to enhance your storytelling and applying these techniques to your own work in progress. You'll have the opportunity to work on your scripts during the session and receive guidance on how to strengthen character development and add layers of meaning to your writing.

Entry Requirements

This workshop is open to anyone who is writing scripts and would like to develop their skills in character development and using symbolism in their work. Just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to explore new techniques!

Materials

Please bring a pen, paper for note-taking, and copies of your own work in progress. Having a script you're currently developing will allow you to apply the techniques we cover during the workshop.

Students could consider enrolling in a further creative writing course.
