GCSE
We offer GCSE courses in English, Maths and Biology. Our English and Maths courses are timetabled during the day or evening, one day a week. Biology is run in the evening only.
Many employers require employees to be proficient in literacy and numeracy. By achieving a Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths GCSE, you have proof of that level of proficiency. Universities usually require students to have GCSE/Level 2 English and Maths qualifications and many degree courses (especially teaching) expect a Science GCSE, such as Biology, too.
When you apply, you will be asked to attend a screening test, after which we will discuss with you the suitability of your course. Please note, GCSE courses are only available to learners aged under 19 if the student is also enrolled on a full-time course at Peter Symonds College Adult & Higher Education.
