Vocational Courses

If you’re looking for a more hands-on, real-world approach for your subjects, our wide range of general vocational courses offer a great alternative to A Levels. Valued and well-regarded by employers, vocational courses such as BTEC, Cambridge Technical and EDUQAS, allow you to gauge your own performance as you go, taking away some of the pressure of exams.

What is a vocational course?

With a strong focus on practical skills, a vocational course offers a mainly coursework-based learning programme. Taught by experienced, professional practitioners, vocational courses can also include work placements.

Can I study a vocational subject with A Levels?

Yes. Vocational courses complement A Levels really well, giving you a varied learning programme. Our vocational courses attract UCAS tariff points for university entrance in a similar way to A Levels, although the grading system is different. To find out the equivalence of each course to A levels, use our block equivalence table.
