Peter Symonds College, Winchester held its annual Remembrance Day event at 11am on Friday 10 November with contributions from student musicians, Principal Sara Russell and Student Union President Zac Hussain, followed by observing two minutes’ silence.

Trumpeters Jacob Gibbs, Ptolemy Grevitt, Simon Lloyd, Felix Thomson and Daniel Tickle have been supported for the event by Julian Poore, the College’s Head of Brass, in rehearsing to perform The Last Post and Reveille.  Representatives from the College’s Student Union, Enrichment and Boarding teams also attended.

Principal Sara Russell said: “ I am proud that the whole College community came together today to remember the civilians and service personnel who have given their lives to serve their country. We are acutely aware that conflict continues in the world today and we think of all those affected, near and far.”
