Syamantak was appointed as a Governor in 2021. He brings a wealth of experience to the role as he is the Provost and a Professor at Solent University in Southampton. He is in the University's Governing Body and a member of the University Executive Team, ensuring all Academic KPI targets are fulfilled, and all Academic regulatory requirements are successfully delivered. Previously, he served as Pro VC Research and Faculty Dean and has pursued his academic career for the last 18 years, which started with his PhD from Cardiff University. Before moving to academia, he was a Commercial Manager of a fleet of tankers and Ship Captain in the merchant navy. Syamantak is a member of our Curriculum & QA committee and the Adult & Higher Education (AHED) link governor.
