Joanna was appointed as a Parent governor in July 2019, and having completed her term she was reappointed as a non category governor in July 2022. Her first career was as a Chartered Engineer and Naval Architect and worked for Lloyds Register until 2017. During the latter part of her career at Lloyds Register she held management and senior executive directorship roles gaining experience in governance and in particular strategic implementation and audit. Joanna’s second career is as a horticulturalist, specializing in fruit trees, and she is currently studying for her Master of Horticulture with the RHS. In addition, she is a magistrate for East Hampshire and a STEM ambassador encouraging young people to consider a career in science or engineering. Joanna is the Chair of the Search & Governance Committee, a member of the Audit Committee and Careers Link Governor.
