What Happens Next (2019 Entry)
You may find the following dates useful:
Applications Open for 2019 Entry
You can apply to the sixth form college via our online site from this date.
Hampshire Specialist Music Course Presentation
Find out more about the HSMC music course at this special event at 6.30pm in the Recital Room, College Centre. You can meet staff and students, hear our current students perform, look around the department and discuss the course in detail.
Open Evenings: 6pm–9pm
This is a second opportunity to come and look around the College. The format is very similar to our July Open Evenings. You will again be able to find out information about the subject areas, meet the staff and chat with some of our current students.
Boarding Application Deadline
All applications for boarding places must be received by 4pm on this date. Students wishing to apply after this date will need to contact the Admissions office on 01962 857555 to discuss.
These are to give you guidance and advice. They are held at College or at some main partner schools.
Application Deadline for September 2019 Applications
Our application deadline is 4pm on Monday 17 December 2018. Students wishing to apply after this date will need to contact the Admissions office on 01962 857555.
Hampshire Specialist Music Course Auditions
Students will be required to perform two pieces on your first study instrument/voice (Grade 7/8 standard) and one piece on your second study instrument/voice, as well as sight-reading tests and a short interview.
Offers of Places
If you have been interviewed, there are three likely outcomes
- You will receive an offer of a place
- Your application will be placed on a reserve list, which means that we are unable to guarantee a place
- No offer will be made
Although we start interviewing in October, no offers will be made at least until mid January 2019.
This is an opportunity for you to spend a day in college trying out your subject choices, meeting staff and other new students. You will also attend Freshers' Fair, where you will find out all about the college activity programme.
Reconfirm Place at the College
After Taster Day we ask if you would still like to take up a place at the college, and if so, whether your subject choices remain the same. The deadline for this will be Friday 5th July 2019.
GCSE Results Day
We hope you will have achieved the grades you are hoping for. However, if your results are very different from those expected and will affect your course choice, you must telephone Admissions on 01962 857555 so we can help and advise you prior to enrolment.
You will be allocated a two hour time slot on one of these days.
It is essential that you attend. When confirming course choices, priority will be given to students who are able to attend enrolment. We may not be able to confirm the preferred subjects of late enrollers.
Sports Team Trials
Dates and times of the individual team trials can be found in the Taster Day Magazine. Team trials are the only chance you have to try for a team place.
First Day at College
Begin your time at college, pick up your timetable and meet your tutor.
