Information About The Post

The key responsibilities of this job are recording changes on our HR software, running the payroll and ensuring the appropriate reports are prepared. You will manage the database and provide management information and data on staffing, as well as ensuring that the system is used and developed to best effect. Part of the HR team, you will work closely with HR colleagues and help staff with payroll and pensions queries in person, by phone or email.

The successful candidate will have experience in payroll administration, ideally in education, and knowledge of how to administer pensions matters in payroll. Knowledge of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and the Local Government Pension Scheme would be very helpful. You will be accustomed to using an HR database and processing high volumes of staffing changes. You will have an excellent eye for detail and be able to manage your own work, while also having a friendly and professional manner when dealing with internal and external contacts. A qualification in payroll administration and familiarity with the software we use (Software for People) are an advantage but not essential.

This post is for 30 hours a week and full year (0.8108 fte). Ideally you will work five days a week (Monday to Friday) although there may be some flexibility for the right candidate.
