A Head of Subject required to lead and grow this department as it enters its second year.
The details for this post are as follows:
Information About The Post
We introduced the WJEC Level 3 Diploma in Medical Science in September 2019 and expect to welcome an additional two or three year one classes in September 2020. For that reason, we seek additional teaching hours and a Head of Subject to lead the course. You will teach both Medical Science and Biology which has its own Head of Subject.
The successful applicant will be an experienced teacher with a degree in Biology or a closely related subject. You will be a team player with a passion for science, who is keen to develop this new subject area, providing as it does an opportunity for student with lower entry grades to study science at level 3. You will also need the skills to lead and grow the small staff team, for which previous management experience would be helpful but is not essential. In addition to the management salary, you will have three sessions a week remission.
Please note that posts advertised to start in September 2020 actually commence with student enrolment on Tuesday 25 August 2020. Teaching staff are required to work this week but should you have an existing commitment please make this clear on your application and we will honour it.
We are dedicated to safeguarding the students in our care. To that end, a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure will be required in the event of an individual being offered a position within our College. Our staff undertake regular safeguarding training and are subject to ongoing safeguarding scrutiny.
