Information About The Post

Our learning support staff provide support to students with special requirements in the College, both in class and in the Study Support department. Some experience working with students aged 16-19, particularly those with specific learning difficulties and disabilities, is desirable but not essential. Additionally, you must be physically fit to undertake manual handling and to provide personal care to students with disabilities if required. Most important is empathy with young people and a genuine desire to help them reach their potential.

LSAs work 39 weeks a year which is term time plus Enrolment Week, which is the last week of August. We have a vacancy for a LSA to join our team as soon as possible due to a vacancy associated with a maternity cover. It will end when the mother returns to work or, if she does not return, in the middle of February 2021 at which point it will be reviewed. This is for three days a week which must be Monday, Tuesday and Friday – a total of 22.5 hours a week (0.5108 FTE).

We are dedicated to safeguarding the students in our care. To that end, a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure will be required in the event of an individual being offered a position within our College. Our staff undertake regular safeguarding training and are subject to ongoing safeguarding scrutiny.
