Information About The Post
The team of five staff in our IT Services Department works hard to support both students and staff, ensuring the provision of a high quality IT network. This includes more than
2000 PCs/laptops and 120 servers covering more than 20 buildings at the main site and another one at AHED, about a mile distant. Our PCs all run Windows 10, whilst the servers run a mixture of VMware, Microsoft Server, and Linux OSs. The team is exceptionally responsive to customer needs, providing an excellent level of service. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a variety of IT support tasks.
As IT Technician, your duties will include providing front line technical support to users, installing equipment, carrying out repairs and helping to maintain network integrity. You will have an IT qualification at level 3 (A level or equivalent) with a good working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Office applications. Alongside this you will be familiar with PC desktop and laptop hardware. Critically, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and a helpful personality.
We are dedicated to safeguarding the students in our care. To that end, a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure will be required in the event of an individual being offered a position within our College. Our staff undertake regular safeguarding training and are subject to ongoing safeguarding scrutiny.
