Peter Symonds College is situated in the heart of Winchester. It is five minutes walk from the rail station and 20 minutes walk from the bus station. Many buses arrive either in college or at the rail station for the convenience of students.

Please note there is no onsite car parking for students. Students with disabilities or mobility issues may apply for a permit to park onsite. Application forms are available from Student Services and applications must be supported by a consultant’s letter.

1.Discounted Rail Travel

Orders for Scholar Passes for the Spring Term can now be placed via the College online shop, or in person at Student Services. The deadline for ordering the pass is 4.30pm on Thursday 7th December in college and Midnight on Thursday 7th December online. Orders received by this time will be included in our first order to South Western Railway, which will be available for collection by students from Monday 18th December. To collect the ticket students should bring their pink rail ID card to Student Services. Tickets cannot be issued without the rail ID card.

Orders received after the deadline will be included in one of two subsequent orders to South Western Railway. The college will be placing three orders for the spring term on pre-arranged dates, and we are not able to make ad hoc orders for individual tickets in between our order dates.
The second order deadline is 4.30pm Wednesday 20th December at the Student Services desk or midnight on Wednesday 3rd January online. Passes in this order will be available for collection on Friday 12th January.
The final order deadline will be 4.30pm on Monday 8th January at the Student Services desk, or midnight on Monday 8th January online. Passes in this order will be available for collection on Tuesday 16th January at the latest.
As you will note, passes purchased after the 7th December deadline are subject to unavoidable delay. Costs incurred buying daily / weekly tickets for travel whilst waiting for a late ordered rail pass will not be reimbursed. All passes, regardless of when they are purchased cover the whole of the Spring Term, 8th January to 29th March 2018 inclusive. If you place your order after 7th December deadline there will be no refund for days at the beginning of term when the pass is not in use.
Please note that as we place orders with South Western Railway for more than 1,000 tickets each term, the process outlined is strictly adhered to. In placing an order for a Scholar Rail Pass you are agreeing to the terms set out above.
Thank you for your support in this matter. Please do contact Student Services if you have any queries:
N.B. If your standard daily ticket fare is more than £12 per day, a Scholar pass may not represent the best value for you. You are advised to contact your local station for advice.

College does not operate "school buses" of its own. Instead students are expected to use publicly operated bus services. Several companies currently serve routes to college, many of which arrive on site in line with lesson times.
