The Careers Department has this year been re-accredited with the Investor in Careers Quality Award, demonstrating our commitment to providing excellent careers education and guidance to students. We encourage students to actively participate in shaping and developing our service, recruiting careers reps and holding focus group meetings.

The Careers Department can be found on the ground floor of Ashurst from 8.30am – 4.35pm daily during term time. It is well stocked with up to date careers resources and prospectuses for students to research and borrow, along with careers guidance packages.

The College employs a large team of experienced and qualified Careers Advisers, Careers Assistants and a Work Experience Co-ordinator to provide students with impartial advice and guidance to ensure all students progress onto positive destinations once they complete their studies.

Students are able to book 1-1 careers appointments with a careers adviser at any time during the academic year, for quick queries or full guidance interviews.

The careers department organise a large number if events and talks for students, including Careers Week Progression Fair, Gap Fair and over 40 lunch time talks delivered by outside visiting speakers. Careers education and guidance is also embedded in the tutorial programme and Symonds Lectures which all students attend.

The department run their own job vacancy system for students, advertising local and national opportunities ranging from work experience, volunteering to degree apprenticeships.
