PETER SYMONDS HELP THE SOUTH EAST WIN THE ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGES NATIONAL SPORTING CHAMPIONSHIP 2017

AoC Champs 2017

Sixty-three Peter Symonds College Students travelled to Nottingham for the thirty-ninth Association of Colleges (AoC) National Championships. Symonds had the largest team representing the South East, competing in 7 different events.

The South East became the new winners of the Wilkinson Sword trophy, as they wrestled the title off local rivals the South West at the AoC Sport National Championships in Nottingham.

Peter Symonds results as follows: Women’s and Men’s Tennis Teams and Men’s Cross Country were awarded gold medals in the competition. Silver medals were awarded to Women's Cross Country, Men's Hockey Team and Women's Hockey Team. Women’s Golf won bronze medals. Fourth place was awarded to the Women’s Netball Team and the Men’s Volleyball Team came fifth.

The region - who were 2016 runners-up - finished 22 points clear of last year's winners in second, while the West Midlands once again finished in third place, just a point behind the South West.
