Information About The Job

We have a vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our busy team as soon as possible. Our committed and dedicated professional staff provide support to students with special requirements in the College, both in class and in the Study Support department.

Some experience working with students aged 16-19, particularly those with specific learning difficulties and disabilities, is desirable but not essential. Experience in supporting students on the autistic spectrum is particularly useful. Additionally, you must be physically fit to undertake manual handling and to provide personal care to students with disabilities if required. Most important is empathy with young people and a genuine desire to help them reach their potential.

We are also interested to hear from anyone who, while not interested in a full time job, might like casual work as a LSA. Please make it clear in your application if this is your preference.

To that end, a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure will be required in the event of an individual being offered a position within our College. Our staff undertake regular safeguarding training and are subject to ongoing safeguarding scrutiny. All appointments are subject to two satisfactory references, the right to work in the UK and medical clearance being carried out formally with the successful candidate.
