Information About The Job

Our Faculty of Maths & Science is one of the biggest in the country, with more than 500 students studying Physics. The Physics department is housed largely in dedicated accommodation comprising four well equipped laboratories, a preparation room, student project room and staff workroom.

As a Technician, duties include preparing equipment for practical sessions, assisting students and keeping the laboratories clean and supplied. The post is term time only plus Enrolment Week and an additional week to be worked by agreement in the team, a total of 40 per year.

The ideal candidate will have a science qualification to level three or above, with experience of laboratory work and a genuine interest in education and science. Experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
