Information About The Job

The History department consists of ten well-qualified staff who share resources and provide excellent support to over 700 students studying A level History. Students are able to chose between a modern and early course, with most of the teaching in this role being on the former. Teaching is accommodated in five specialist History rooms, their facilities being complemented by excellent IT resources. A variety of trips are organised, including both home and overseas.

We seek a Teacher of History to join the team for one term from September to December, to cover the absence of a colleague on parental leave. The successful candidate will be a graduate of History or of a closely allied subject, familiar with contemporary issues in the teaching of History and able to share their enthusiasm for the subject with their students. You will be a reflective teacher, committed to excellence in teaching and learning. We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced teachers.

We would also advise you that posts advertised to start in September 2017 actually commence with student enrolment on Tuesday 29 August 2017. Teaching staff are required to work this week but should you have an existing commitment please make this clear on your application and we will honour it.
