Student Support Fund

Students who have difficulty meeting the specific financial costs of attending college may be eligible for financial help from the Student Support Fund. This is a cash-limited fund available to help with travel costs, books, equipment and UK trips.

Generally, households whose income is £25,000 or under are eligible to apply but special circumstances can be taken into consideration. Application forms and further information are available for collection from Student Services from Enrolment Week onwards. Proof of household income is required. Only photocopied documents are accepted. Originals submitted cannot be returned. If funds allow, the £25,000 threshold may be increased later in the year.

Student Bursary

Students who are looked after (in care); care leavers; a parent or living independently and in receipt of Income Support (Universal Credit) or have a disability and are in receipt of ESA and DLA (Personal Independence Payment), will be eligible for a weekly bursary payment. (£1,200 pa in 2015/2016.

Students’ attendance and academic record will be taken into account when applications for financial assistance are considered. Evidence supporting absences is required.
