We welcome applications from students with learning difficulties, disabilities and medical conditions. The college is well equipped and we aim to ensure that you take a full part in college life.
We have a team of well-trained specialists who will discuss with you how they can best meet your specific needs for example, specialist dyslexia teaching, in-class support or assistance with mobility around the campus. In addition, we provide help with study skills such as essay writing, organisation and revision planning.
If you need temporary support, for example you have broken your leg, arrangements can be made to make your life easier. Our First Aid Nurse Adviser is available during college hours for helpful advice and in case of emergency.
Exam access arrangements are also organised through this department for example, use of a word processor, extra time or specific arrangements for medical needs.
Please tell us on your application form whether you will require any support, so that we can organise this before you arrive.
If English is not your first language you may be given one-to-one or small group teaching to improve your spoken and written English. You may be able to work towards the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), which is widely recognised as an entry requirement for further and Higher Education.
