STUDENT LIFE & ENRICHMENT

Students relaxing in the college grounds

There are many opportunities to get involved in
college life, to make new friends and to enjoy your
time here.

From sailing a Tall Ship to taking up pottery, from Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to being a member of the online magazine team, from keeping fit in the multi-gym to entering a national debating competition … there are activities to suit everyone. Activities are a very important part of what we do, giving students the opportunity to gain new experiences, get involved, make new friends and enjoy themselves.

The Student Union

The Student Union represents all students in meetings with staff, senior managers and outside bodies. They work closely with Student Services and the College Marketing Office to organise events, awareness-raising campaigns and fund-raising activities. You can become involved in the Union as the representative elected by your tutor group, or by being elected as an executive officer in a college election.

Student View

"For me, Peter Symonds is about getting involved with your subjects, sports teams, activities and an awful lot more! With a good attitude your time here really will mark the start of adulthood, where you learn to balance your work with a multitude of extra curricular activities. Staff and fellow Students will give you a great deal of guidance, but enough independence, so ultimately, it's up to you. Make the most of the time here. Believe me, it will go quickly!"
