STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES

One of the ways in which we try to help you achieve your goals is by offering, where appropriate, study support. A range of support is available to anyone who has a disability which may affect their learning. This could include:

  • learning difficulties;
  • specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia;
  • sensory impairment (e.g. visual, hearing);
  • physical disabilities; and
  • difficulties in learning associated with mental health problems.

The type of study support you may require will depend on your individual needs however the support available can include:

  • learning support in literacy, numeracy and study skills;
  • special equipment and aids (e.g. hearing loop, large print);
  • access arrangements for external examinations (e.g. extra time, reader, scribe, word processor);
  • individual support from a Learning Support Assistant; and
  • note takers.

Our Study Support team are here to provide extra help if and when you need it. For further information please contact our Head of Study Support on 01962 886166 or via email sluchford@psc.ac.uk. We treat all enquiries on a confidential basis.

ACE Subject Intranet

Many of the resources used in our courses can be found on our Intranet. Once you enrol on a course with the adult education division you will have 24 hour access to our Intranet site and you will be able to contribute to subject forums. One of the forums available to adult education students is the Equal Opportunities Forum. We would like to hear your views.
