Topics:

  • Learning at Work Days:
The Right to Request Time Off for Training came into operation in the UK in April 2010. It allows employees in businesses of 250+ staff to ask for time to train for accredited and unaccredited courses. This right has come into force to help employees develop skills relevant to their job, workplace or business. From April 2011 this right will be extended to cover all employees in all businesses. Peter Symonds College, Adult Education, would like the opportunity to tell you about how we can assist you and your staff following this new legislation.
  • Employer Forum:
Peter Symonds College, Adult Education, would like the opportunity to tell you about our new Employers Forum. We understand the importance of working closely with local businesses and so we have set up a forum for employers to access and use. We warmly welcome you to attend one of our events to find out more about it.
  • Foundation Degrees:
In June 2010, David Willetts suggested students take degrees at further education colleges, such as Peter Symonds College, Adult Education division. Not only would this ease financial burden on students but it would also allow further education colleges to provide clear progression routes in specific subject areas. Come along to one of the events outlined opposite to find out what opportunities are available at Peter Symonds College and share with us the types of foundation degrees you might like developed in your sector.

All the events will be utilised to provide you with updates on topical issues such as legislation, new curriculum and qualification changes, development of skills and funding opportunities. Education is fast paced and ever changing and we understand the importance of businesses, employers and employees being kept informed.
